Summary of the Values
The Values of the Helsinki Vineyard can be summarised in ten points:
Values on a Broader Scale
We value the MERCY OF GOD. We believe that God’s mercy was manifested in Jesus dying on the cross on our behalf. Mercy is fundamental in salvation and in our growth as Christians. We, therefore, aim to extend mercy to one another and to all to whom we minister.
(Colossians.2:13-15; 3:12-13; Titus2:11-14)
We value CHRISTLIKENESS. We desire that Jesus' love, mercy, grace, truth, purity, power, and integrity would shine through all that we are and do
(Philippians 3:10:; Colossians 1:27-28; 3:9-12).
We aim first to grow as disciples of Christ ourselves and then to make disciples of others
(Matthew 28:18-20).
We value BEING SPIRIT-LED. We honor Jesus as the Head of the Church. That’s why we seek to be responsive to the Holy Spirit in life and ministry
(John 16:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 5:25).
We value THE PURSUIT OF GOD IN PRAYER. We are hungry to know God's presence, hear His voice and follow hard after Him
(Psalm 63:1-3; John 6:35; 10:27).
We believe that prayer is essential in communion with God
(Luke 11:9-10; Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18).
We value THE KINGDOM OF GOD. We want to see God’s kingdom to manifest in signs and wonders as in Jesus ministry. We want to invoke the Holy Spirit's powerful presence into our ministry, minister through the Holy Spirit's gifts, see God heal and deliver from evil spirits
(Mark 16:17-18; Luke 9:1-6; 1 Peter 4:10-11).
We value NATURAL SUPERNATURAL. We aim to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and see real supernatural works of God. We aim also consider our humanity and use our God given understanding. We wish not to create artificially religious athmosphere or religious hype but we aim to be natural.
(Matthew 6:1-8, 16-18; 12:10-13; Philippians 3:9-11; James 1:5)
We value SERVANT LEADERSHIP. We believe that Christ has put leadership authority in the hands of the pastor and other church leaders. We aim to exercise that authority with humility, selflessness, grace, care for the sheep, and a sincere desire to build up the church of Christ
(Mark 10:42-45; Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 5:1-5).
We value UNITY among Christians. We are convinced that all who belong to Christ are one in His Body, the Church. We aim to maintain unity among Christians by honoring all who believe in Jesus and by seeking reconciliation with all parts of the Church.
(John 17:21-23)
We value ENCOURAGING RELATIONSHIPS. We aim to work together to build the Church through maintaining mutual respect, open communication, determined co-operation, and believing and speaking the best about each other.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Colossians 2:12-17)
We value being CULTURE CURRENT. We want that people who live in current culture would understand and feel close to our ministry, our talk and our being. For example, we reflect this value through worship music that is of a popular style.
(Acts 17:18-34; 1 Corinthians 9:19-22)
