Helsinki Vineyard

In my previous post I discussed how some lines for music were recorded and this post is a follow-up on what happened with those lines.

As to be expected my first stab at creating song lyrics wasn’t received as such. Terhi took her skills to the lines I provided and came up with something quite... – well, you need to judge for yourself by coming to one of our meetings and hearing the song for yourself (this is no guarantee that the song is played in every meeting ;-)). Here are the lyrics for the final song:

So out of the original seventeen lines nine got used in some form or another and three made it untouched. In the process of making this song another one came out of the woodwork so to say. It was originally meant to be a part of the same song but we decided to make a separate song out of it. That one has the following lyrics:

Jesus, all I need is You

Jesus, I will not be moved

I belong to You	x3
You called me by name

I belong to You	x2
I won't run away from Your love
Anymore

My heart is Yours

So what has this process of creating a song taught me? Well, truth be told I learnt nothing of how-to make music or write song lyrics. The only thing that came alive to me was Philippians 4:13 that states: ”I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.” Now reflecting on it is funny how most of my life seems to be like this. I’m put in situations or I put myself where I’m totally over my head and only through the grace of God I’m able to cope with whatever the situation is.

The jury is still out on this one whether our song will be made of sturdier stuff than wood hay and stubble. Let us see together.
